I spotted several spider webs in the edge of the woods as I walked the dogs on the path this morning. Thank goodness there were none across the path. God has been gracious enough not to let me run into any this year.
It had been overcast all morning and the sun had just come out and was peaking through the woods. Perfect. I could hear a woodpecker working away somewhere close by. I couldn't find him but I took this picture of one a couple of weeks ago. I had my telephoto lens on but still I was able to get really close to him.
This is so NOT what I wanted to see when I went out this afternoon to spray something off with the water hose. A snake skin!! Right where I have to reach down and turn on the water. I have always been a chicken about spiders being where the hose is but I haven't ever thought about a snake before. It was small but still. Ugh!!
I'm not crazy to see this yet either. Brown leaves. August wasn't as hot and humid as usual. Actually, it was so nice that we haven't had our air conditioner on for over two weeks. A couple of days this past weekend got a little dicey. We certainly needed to turn it on but I was determined to have another month with no electric bill! We've been making up for overpaying due to being on the equal payment plan. We haven't paid a dime on our electric bill in four months!
We didn't do a thing over Labor Day weekend. Well, I mean we didn't go anywhere. Tim worked on some of David's stuff. We watched the Reds and plenty of college football. Go Hoos!! They won their first game. Seth came over Sunday and visited for awhile. Tim played golf yesterday morning but came home after nine holes because of rain. We were sitting here talking on the phone with Sarah when we heard a loud boom and our power went off. Tim called the power company and one hour later we were back on the grid!! What service. We were the only ones out. It was on our pole. The person from A.P. fixed it and cleaned the vines off our pole. Just in time for the Reds game.
So, summer is officially over and on to fall we go. Tim is counting down the days until his annual golf trip.
Hey there! Can you believe that I just now read your comment you left on my blog in March! I have been a very very bad blogger! lol! Thank you so much for your sweet words. I can't believe that you remembered that story about the christmas decoration! It has been quite a ride this past year and I can't imagine our life without our little guy. He just turned one and he is truly brings more joy than I ever thought possible. And Kiersten is the most amazing big sister that ever could be! I love being able to say "the kids" as that's something I never thought I would get to say.
ReplyDeleteHope you are good! Need to catch up with you as well! I'm actually trying to get back into scrapping as I haven't done so in over a year and I want to do some boy pages! ;)
Hope your week is off to a wonderful start!
Heather :)
