HOT

It's only 11 a.m. and it is 88 degrees today. The high is supposed to get to 102!! Yikes! Glad I have air conditioning and ceiling fans. This hydrangea looks like this every afternoon as it wilts in the sun. If it was wilting before I dread seeing it this afternoon.

The next couple of days are supposed to be in the triple digits then high 90's. Mild winter, HOT summer. Sounds like global warming to me. ;)

Old friends

Once a year my old high school (well, technically middle school and on) friends and I get together for a visit. Yes, only once a year. I know, how pathetic. We always say we are going to get together more often but we never do. Anyway, this year I hosted them at my house. They came around 12 ish and stayed all afternoon and visited. I made lunch...turkey clubs, macaroni salad, broccoli salad and a trifle. I took a few pictures before they arrived.

I picked a few wild flowers, better known as weeds when I walked the dogs to add to this pitcher. Luckily no spiders crawled out while they were here.

I set the table in the dining room. It was nice to eat in there considering we never use this room.

I layered angel food cake, homemade vanilla custard with whipped cream, a raspberry/strawberry sauce, strawberries, peaches and blueberries in these boopie glasses that were Granny's. They make the perfect dessert dish.

It was a nice afternoon of catching up and we even talked of meeting up again this summer. Never know, we just might. ;)

Oh yeah, I think I jinxed the reds after bragging about them in the last post. They just got swept in Cleveland this week. Nice.

Father's Day Weekend

Tim and Seth played golf Saturday morning for Father's Day and then Seth proceeded to sleep ALL day on the living room couch.

The living room couches are a favorite sleeping spot for the dogs. :)

Tim and I went to the church for a wedding at five o'clock and when we got home Seth was awake.

Had to add this picture because the Reds just swept the Mets and Indians in two straight series. =D The photo was taken in 2008 when Seth and I went to Cincinnati to watch the Indians and the Reds swept them. They were just some random guys with their brooms and I asked to take their picture.

The Reds are leading their division by four games. Yeah!!

Sarah's Room

I have been working upstairs a little today. We had taken the bookshelf off Sarah's desk and moved it over to the back window awhile back but all the stacked books, etc. were still on it. So, today I went up to figure out what to do with them. I thought I would end up stacking them in the playroom but i forgot about this random bookshelf at the top of the stairs. I ended up piling as many books as possible in it and then stacked Sarah's yearbooks in the playroom.

I was going to stack the yearbooks under the one spot under her bed they would fit but Gabby found that one spot for herself.

"Chocolate" got a new home on the window seat.

The desk with my sewing machine that I NEVER use. Hopefully sometime........

I also moved her nightstand over to the other side so when you walk into the room it looks better. I'll have to find some other piece for the other side.

And the dreaded playroom. All I have done in the past few months is pile it high. I am not looking forward to cleaning it out.

By nature I am a pretty organized person so it really drives me crazy that the playroom and then the attic beyond that are in such disarray but I guess even organized people have their "trouble" spots.
